\"When you decided 'I'm not only going to commit this crime, I'm going to get on the [witness] stand and lie about it' to get out of the hot water you got yourself into ... all the goodwill goes out the window, as far as I'm concerned,\" U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra told [Thomas Correa] during the sentencing hearing Tuesday in West Palm Beach. Correa, 48, of Plantation, is on leave from his job as assistant principal at Lanier-James Education Center in Hallandale Beach, and expects to be terminated shortly, according to his attorney, Dave Bogenschutz. A jury found Correa guilty of conspiring to commit bank fraud and making false statements. \"I never thought in a million years that I'd ever find myself in a situation like this,\" he told the judge. \"I've made some poor choices, allowing myself to associate with people who were bad people.\"
