Overview
Sur La Table wants its wares on your table, countertop, bookshelf, and stove. The specialty retailer sells appliances, bakeware, cookbooks, housewares, specialty foods, and other items for both professional and home chefs from about 110 stores in some 30 states, a website, and catalogs. It also offers a gift registry. For customers who aren't sure how to best use the iconic Le Creuset casserole dish, Cuisinart food processor, or Henckels knives, it offers cooking classes and cookbook signing events in more than 40 of its stores. It instructs more than 100,000 students annually. Founded in 1972 in Seattle by Shirley Collins, Sur La Table has been owned by Bahrain-based Investcorp since 2011.
