With a student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1, it offers more than 70 majors through nine schools and colleges, including institutions focused on arts and sciences, business, law, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and nursing. Its 130-acre campus is adjacent to the downtown business district of Omaha, Nebraska. Creighton University was founded in 1878 and named after Omaha businessman Edward Creighton.
