Overview
C.W. Matthews Contracting Company is a leading heavy highway construction contractor offering asphalt, roadway, bridge construction, and commercial site work. Its operations are made up of multiple divisions capable of performing grading, asphalt, concrete and structures work, as well as underground utilities services. With around 25 fully owned-and-operated asphalt plants located throughout the state, C.W. Matthews is one of Georgia's leading designers and producers of hot-mix asphalt. Its projects include the transformation of an old steel plant into Atlantic Station a 138-acre mixed-use development in Atlanta. In 1940s, C.W. Matthews and several partners founded Marietta Construction Company, which became C.W. Matthews Contracting Company in 1950s.
