Overview
Andrew M. Niemer, CRC, Charter Bank, Barbara K. Mize, CRC, Fidelity Bank, and Charles F. Fletcher, CRC, RBC Royal Bank saw the exam for Credit Risk Certification (CRC), offered through RMA, as a personal challenge. Their inspirational stories attest that: 1. learning never stops for the best in the business, 2. the CRC requires a combination of knowledge and experience, and 3. excellence can be its own reward. Niemer says when they first heard of the RMA-CRC, applications were being accepted for the beta test. Their chief credit officer felt strongly about the CRC, and made it an immediate professional development goal for all relationship managers and credit administration to obtain RMA-CRC designation. In her preparation, Mize initially spent about 10 to 15 hours reading through the Book of Knowledge to study for the trial exam. When she did not pass the exam the first time, she committed to taking the test a second time and put forth a lot more effort.
