Overview
Matt Gumplowicz always wanted to run his own business. His first driving job had been in the manual labor-intensive removals sector, so perhaps it's not a surprise that his head was turned by something that could lend a hand with the heavy lifting. He recounts that one particular day on a job, a big HIAB came around the corner and he stood there, watching in awe as the driver lifted a machine off the back of the lorry. He decided there and then that it was something he was going to start doing. And he did. He moved on from removals and gained further experience driving for builders' merchants, a useful next step. In 2012, Gumplowicz was ready to start out on his own and G Force Transport officially came into being and started trading soon after from the company's Dartford base. Obviously a transport company needs a truck and the first to join the G Force fleet was a Scania, a marque that dominates his current fleet. That first truck was bought second hand through Mac's Trucks of Huddersfield, which provided such good service that G Force has bought all its trucks through the Yorkshire dealer.
