Overview
The Australian Road Assessment Program (AusRAP) has assessed 2363 kilometres of Victoria's national highway network and found only two per cent of the state's rural national highways achieve a top safety rating. RACV manager roads and traffic, Dave Jones, says about $470 million would need to be spent on all of Victoria's national highways to achieve a minimum three safety star standard.
