Overview
MELBOURNE, Sept 15 AAP - A former police officer who leaked confidential information to an accused drug dealer from the Victoria Police database has avoided conviction and jail. Christopher Gerald Marks, 30, of Frankston South, appeared for sentencing today in Victoria's County Court after he pleaded guilty to the rarely used charge of misfeasance of public office. He had also pleaded guilty to drugs charges, all stemming from an incident in June 2003 when Marks ran a check on a man caught with 300 ecstasy tablets following a request from a friend and accused drug dealer.
