Overview
Rock band Ghostwriters, featuring former Midnight Oil drummer Rob Hurst and guitarist Martin Rotsey, is headlining Saturday night's Brisbane \"Peace Gig\" concert opposing the Talisman Sabre military exercises and the Iraq war. Sydney-based Hurst said today he was more than happy to use his high profile to oppose what he considered is the \"totally unnecessary\" Talisman Sabre exercise centred on Shoalwater Bay in central Queensland. Mr Hurst said he believed Australia \"hadn't heard a peep\" about the Talisman Sabre exercises from the federal opposition because Labor didn't want to hurt its chances of winning the next election.
