CANBERRA, July 25 AAP - A national housing crisis is looming, with middle Australia spending a much greater proportion of its income on shelter than past generations, a panel of experts has warned. Professor [Julian Disney] said there was a growing shortage of \"affordable housing\" around Australia - meaning homes available for purchase by lower and middle income earners, public rental housing and private rental housing. \"That's a disaster for working Australia, it means inter-generational income security is put at risk and therefore the future for families is much more insecure.\"
