Overview
[Alfonso Gagliano] testified last month that he has \"many\" boxes of documents in his basement, but on Monday his lawyer Pierre Fournier refused to produce them, claiming the commission was \"on a wild goose chase\" and a \"fishing expedition.\" Fournier said that Gagliano, as a member of Parliament, was constantly invited to various events and the letters in the archives are primarily responses to those invitations. But he acknowledged that the documents listed in an index were not there. The lawyers are wondering if these documents are gathering dust in Gagliano's basement. Fournier appeared angry at the commission's apparent unwillingness to believe Gagliano when he said last month that the basement boxes \"contain no relevant documents.\"
