Overview
\"Local people are going on a protest every day after the forced resignation of the region's governor, Arzybek Burkanov. There was a shoot-out in Batken. Yesterday [1 February], the head of the government staff, Torogul Bekov was reportedly extricated from among a crowd with difficulty with the help of a special task force. This situation cannot but alarm. The president must immediately intervene and put the situation in the town under control,\" [Kamchybek Tashiyev] said. The leader of the faction of Ata-Jurt, Kamchybek Tashiyev, has disagreed with his colleagues who have denied the reports about a shoot-out in Batken. Tashiyev has told KyrTAg that there are \"some MPs who are trying to calm down everybody, but in actual fact everything is much more serious\".
