الكتاب يمثل صفحات من كتاب الرحالة أحمد محمد الشرماني في الأقطار التي زارها في العالمين العربي والاسلامي ويذكر المؤلف في رحلته الكويت التي زارها من الفترة من يناير إلى أبريل 1948 أنه كان موضع التكريم والحفاوة والاهتمام من جميع فئات المجتمع الكويتي، كما تحدث عن الطبيعة الأخلاقية والنفسية للمجتمع الكويتي وعن مواكب النهضة الاجتماعية والسياسية والاقتصادية التي مهدت لاستقلال الكويت وخص نظام الحكم فيها بشيء من التوضيح والتفصيل الذي جعله مطمئنا إلى القول بأن مظهر البلاد وادع ومستقر بفضل السياسة الحكيمة التي يتبعها سمو المغفور له حاكم الكويت.
