ينقسم هذا الكتاب إلي أربعة فصول تناول الفصل الأول تعريف الموشح في اللغة وفي الإصطلاح البلاغي وفي الإصطلاح الشعري وتعليل تسمية الموشح ومخترعيه أما الفصل الثاني فقد خصص بتأريخ لحركة الموشحات في بلاد الشام وتبيان أهميتها عند الأدباء والشعراء الشاميين والكلام على المعارضات فيها وعلاقتها بالغناء والرقص وأما الفصل الثالث فقد أفرده للكلام على أغراض الموشحات الشامية التي كانت متنوعة مختلفة بينما خصص الفصل الرابع بالكلام على خصائصها الفنية والموضوعية وقد أشار في خاتمة البحث إلى أهم نتائجه وثماره.
