يتناول الكاتب (أندريه ستيفن) في كتابه (عمان برها وبحرها تراث وتاريخ) بوصف العمارة العمانية وهندسة بنائها وفقا لطبيعة المنطقة التي تضمها وذلك في عبارات موجزة وكلمات قليلة ولكنها كافية في تصويرها الدقيق وتعبيرها البليغ وشرحها المحكم وتقديمها النموذج الحي لكل سمة ووصف وميزة يشير إليها وهو ما يؤكد على أن الكاتب طاف مختلف أرجاء البلاد واطلع على تفاصيل العمارة العمانية ومكوناتها وما تمتلكه من آثار قيمة وسجل بقلمه وعدسته أروع تلك المعالم وقدم كتابه للمكتبة العالمية وهو شارح لحقيقة وقيمة تلك العمارة وما وصل إليه العمانيون من ثراء مالي وعلمي وحضاري.
