هذا الكتاب هو موجز في التاريخ العماني على مر العصور، منذ نزول سيدنا آدم إلى الأرض إلى ان تولى السلطان هيثم بن طارق السلطة. اختصر الكاتب تاريخ عمان من العصور القديمة، ثم انتقل إلى ذكر عمان في عصر الدولة الإسلامية. انتقل بعدها إلى ذكر عمان في عصر الأئمة الأوائل وعمان في عصور الظلام. تلاها ذكر دولة النباهنة واليعاربة. وجاء في الأخير ذكر دولة البوسعيد الأولى والثانية إلى حكم السلطان قابوس ودوره الكبير في توحيد عمان والقضاء على الثورات بشكل تام في عام ١٩٧٥. ثم انتقل إلى عصر النهضة حتى تولي السلطان هيثم مقاليد البلاد.
