هدف هذا الكتاب هو تحليل ونقد هذه التيارات المختلفة، وبيان التحولات التي عرفها المنعطف اللغوي ذاته ومن ثمة الكشف عن التوجهات الجديدة في فلسفة اللغة المعاصرة ولقد تحولت الفلسفة في القرن العشرين إلى فلسفة لغوية، ذلك ما تدل عليه عبارة المنعطف اللغوي ولم يقتصر الأمر على الفلسفة التحليلية أو الأنجلوسكسونية كما هو شائع، وإنما أصاب كذلك، الفلسفة الأوروبية القارية بتياراتها المختلفة وبخاصة التيار التأويلي والتيار البنيوي.
