يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن الفارابي في حدوده ورسومه حيث يعتبر أبا نصر الفارابي قمة من قمم الفكر الإسلامي في نظر كثير من الباحثين فهو فيلسوف المعاني في العربية من غير منازع يحاول المساوقة بين دلالة اللفظ في اللسان ودلالة معناه في النفس فهما في رأيه يقترنان معا في هذه الحال لسانا ونفسا ولأن عملية توضيح معاني الكلمات ضرورة في كل عصر سواء أكان التوضيح رياضيا أو لغويا وكانت خطوة مؤلف هذا الكتاب الأولى من نوعها في هذا المجال حيث رجع إلى كثير من مؤلفات الفارابي واختار منها ما يعرف في المصطلح (حدا أو تعريفا أو رسما) وهو ما خلفه لنا الفارابي في (حدوده ورسومه) وكان غرض المؤلف من جمعها وتفسيره.
