علم الآلآت استطاع أن يفرض التعاون بين الصانع والعازف والمؤلف وقائد الفرقة وعالم الصوت والمؤرخ وجعل الجميع يحسون أنهم أطراف متعددة يجتمعون تحت وحدة الفن وفي خدمة الموسيقى وقد وضع أعمالهم جميا في بوتقة واحدة هى المادة التى يبنى عليها هذا الفن والآلات الموسيقية على اختلاف انواعها وتباين فصائلها تسيطر على علم فسيح من النغمات (أى الأصوات الموسيقية) وتعمل معا جنبا إلى جنب كأفراد أسرة منسجمة متناسقة متآخية متآلفة فالأوركسترا الواحد قد يضم اكثر من مائة آلة تجمع بين أغلظها وبين أحدها صوتا.
