يتناول الكتاب مذكرات رجل حمل روحه على كفيه من أجل مصر فلم يجد إلا الجحود والنكران والغدر ممن تصدى لحمايتهم من الضباط الشبان الذين قاموا بثورة 23 يوليو فى مصر اعتقلوه لما نادى بتسليم السلطة للشعب وضرورة عودة الضباط الى ثكناتهم العسكرية اعتقلوه من مكتبه كرئيس للجمهورية بقصر عابدين بزعم وبقسم الشرف العسكرى لأن يعود الى مكتبه بعد أسبوع فظل فى معتقل المرج 18 عام حتى أفرج عنه الرئيس السادات بعد حرب أكتوبر 1973 توفى في 1984.
