يحكي الكتاب \"سليمان بن صالح الدخيل\" كان الجد \"سليمان بن صالح الدخيل\" -رحمه الله- عالما مثقفا واسع العلم والمعرفة، أخذ العلم من علماء القصيم، ثم إزداد ثقافة ورسوخا من علماء العراق مثل العلامة \"شكري الألوسي\" واتصل بالمثقفين، فألف وكتب وأنشأ جريدة الرياض عام 1327هـ (1910م) فكانت منبرا من منابر العربية، حيث حملت لواء الدعوة إلى وحدة العرب، فكانت لسان صدق لبعث المجد العربي كافح فيها عن العرب وأبلى فيها من الدولة التركية التي كانت في ذلك الوقت لا تأبه للعرب ونشر فيها بحوث جليلة عن الجزيرة العربية عن عادات أهلها وحروبهم وسلمهم وقبائلهم وغزواتهم ومنازعاتهم وأمرائهم ومواقفهم السياسية والتعريف بتاريخهم المجيد.
