«آل رومانوف» هي الأسرة المالكة الثانية والأخيرة التي حكمت روسيا وانتهت بمقتل آخر قياصرتها «نقولا الثاني» إثر اندلاع الثورة البلشفية عام 1917 م، وبمناسبة الاحتفال بمرور 300 عام على تنصيبها على عرش روسيا يقدم «سليم قبعين» موجزا واضحا لتاريخها، والذي بدأ منذ تولي «ميخائيل ثيودرفيتش رومانوف» عرش روسيا في 21 فبراير 1613 م، وأهم الإصلاحات التي قام بها ومن جاء من بعده للارتقاء بأمور البلاد اقتصاديا وإداريا واجتماعيا ودينيا وعلميا وقضائيا وحربيا، حتى تمكنوا في النهاية من توطيد أركان السلام والأمن في البلاد بعد أن كانت تموج في بحر من الفوضى والخراب والدمار على كافة المستويات. وفي هذا الكتاب أيضا استعراض سريع لحياة القيصر نقولا الثاني «نقولا أليكساندروفيتش» اليومية، وبطرس الأكبر مؤسس روسيا الجديدة وأهم الإصلاحات التي قام بها في البلاد.
