في هذا البحث عرض لآراء مجموعة من العلماء المحققين حول وصف المجتمعات الإسلامية المعاصرة بالجاهلية. وقد اتفقت على عدم جواز ذلك رغم ما قد يشوب هذه المجتمعات من انحرافات. وقد أصل هذا الموقف اعتمادا على أحاديث النبي صلى الله وعليه وسلم. وبدل وصف المجتمعات الإسلامية بالجاهلية يقترح الشيخ عبد السلام ياسين رحمه الله وصفها بالمفتونة ؛ ذلك أن الفتنة، وهي وصف قرآني نبوي، أدق وصف لما يعنيه من اختلاط الحق بالباطل وهو حقيقة ما عليه مجتمعات المسلمين اليوم.
