يندرج الكتاب ضمن مشروع نهضوي طموح لاستعادة وعي الفرد بعد نقد العقل الديني ومرجعياته المرتهنة في معارفها لقدسية التراث وأوهام الحقيقة، بعيدا عن المناهج العلمية، والكشوفات المعرفية الحديثة. فالكتاب يلاحق البنية المعرفية للعقل التراثي، لنقد مقولاته ومضمراته ويقينيات، وتحري مدى مطابقتها للواقع، وصدقية النصوص المؤسسة لها. ولا يكتفي بالنقد والتفكيك والتحليل، بل يواصل حفره وتنقيبه في بقع معرفية مستبعدة ومهمشة، تقع ضمن المتواري واللا مفكر فيه، يتوقف على استدعائها فهم الواقع ومعرفة الحقيقة. وكيفية اشتغال النص وفرض حقيقته ومحدداته، خاصة التباس المقدس بالمدنس، والديني بالبشرى، بسبب التباس المفاهيم وتزوير الوعي.
