صدرت هذه الرواية بالفرنسية تحت عنوان غاية في الاختصار أم وهو الاسم المعروف لأم كلثوم بفرنسا مثل ثومة بالعالم العربي ثم ترجمت إلى الإنجليزية والإيطالية بعنوان أحببتك لأجل صوتك فيما قام بترجمتها الشاعر اللبناني الراحل بسام حجار بهذا العنوان كان صرحا من خيال المأخوذ من قصيدة الأطلال وهي إحدى أغنيات أم كلثوم القليلة التي لم يؤلفها أحمد رامي الذي يمكن القول إنه الشاعر الخصوصي لها حيث كتب 137 أغنية من بين 383 أغنية قدمتها في مشوارها الفني استوحى أغلب أعماله من التاريخ العاطفي للشخصيات التاريخية من خلال موضوعه المفضل الغرام.
