الإسلام بجميع تشريعاته هو الوسط في الفكر كل تشريع اقتصادي أو اجتماعي لا يتقاطع مع نص القرآن والسنة إنه التشريع الوسط الذي ينبني عليه المجتمع فالإسلام جله ليس فيه الغلو في الجانب الروحي ولا المادي إنما هو الوسط في الفكر الإنساني وهذا شرح لفكر كوكبة من علماء المسلمين وعرض جزء لأفكارهم بهدف إزالة الغبار عن الإسلام ورفض الطعون التى يوجهها أعداء الإسلام إليه من تخلف ورجعية فالحقيقة التي هى ساطع نورها أن الفكر الإسلامي هو الفكر الوسطي إنه الوسط بين الأفكار الدينية والمبادئ الفكرية.
