تتناول هذه المحاضرة قضية الوسطية انطلاقا من تحديد إطار فكري ينظر إلى الظاهرة الدينية بوصفها تستلزم مقاربة تخضع للعقل والمعرفة البشرية والحدس وقد أبرز المحاضر حاجة المسلمين إلى تحرير أنفسهم من الحصار الذي تضربه عليهم القراءة الأيديولوجية التي تفتقر إلى الانتماء إلى العصر وميز بين المرجعية الأحادية التي تكمن في مبدأ \"التوحيد الإسلامي\" وبين مرجعية التعددية المجتمعية التي تكمن في المجتمع وما ينشأ فيها من مشكلات مجتمعية سياسية واقتصادية وعلمية وجدد تيزيني الدعوة إلى قانون التبني والاستلهام والعزل التاريخي التراثي.
