لقد اعتنى الدارسون والنقاد والباحثون منذ أمد بعيد بسلطة اللغة وسلطة الشعر دراسة وتمحيصا وتصنيفا إلى جيد ورديء. ولم يلبث العمل والدرس متواصلا، حيث لا يمضي وقت حتى تصدر نشرات وبحوث وكتب جديدة تواكب حركة الشعر وإنتاجه. الملفت للنظر رغم الجهد الكبير الذي حظي به الشعر بالدراسة إلا أن هذه الدراسات غالبا ما نجدها تطنب بإسهاب في ترجمة الشعراء وظروفهم ومحيطهم الذي برزوا فيه، وهي لذلك تحتاج إلى المزيد من الاهتمام أكثر بالإبداع الفني للشعر كموضوع دراسة مستقلة في النقد الحديث. خاصة في الدرس النقدي لسلطة اللغة وسلطة الشعر.
