هذا الكتاب عن الشعر الأندلسي كتبه اميليو جارثيا جوميز وهو عالم كبير اجتمعت له خصائص أربع تجعله أجدر الناس بفهم الشعر والكلام فيه : أولاها : علم واسع باللغة العربية وتمكن نادر من أصولها وخصائصها وتاريخها، وثانيها : إحساس شعري صادق وإدراك فني دقيق فهو شاعر في لغته الإسبانية وناقد قادر على الحكم على الشعر والنثر وثالثتها : منهج علمي دقيق اكتمل له بطول الدرس والبحث، ورابعتها : أفق رحيب وثقافة إنسانية واسعة ؛ ومن ثم فلا غرابة أن يكون هذا البحث-على صغر حجمه-من أحسن ما كتب عن ناحية من نواحي الأدب العربي في اللغة العربية أو غيرها من اللغات. وهذا هو الذي حفز الأستاذ الدكتور حسيم مؤنس على ترجمة هذا الكتاب إلى اللغة العربية حتى ينتفع به قراؤها.
