يقدم الصحافي سيف الدين الدوري توثيقا لحياة ونشاط فؤاد الركابي أحد أبرز مؤسسي حزب البعث العربي الاشتراكي في العراق، في كتابه فؤاد الركابي ضحية الحزب الذي أسسه، الصادر عن المؤسسة العربية للدراسات والنشر. ولأن سيف الدوري نشأ في عائلة بعثية وعمل في صفوف حزب البعث لسنوات طويلة، بما مكنه من تقييم جوانب عديدة من تجربة حكم حزب البعث في العراق، فقد سعى في كتابه لتوثيق آراء العديد ممن غادروا الحزب في الستينيات والسبعينيات. لم يكن فؤاد الركابي شخصا عاديا مر في حياة الحزب، بل يمكن القول إن الشارع العراقي عرف بشكل واسع حزب البعث من خلال مشاركة الركابي في أول وزارة شكلت بعد الإطاحة بالنظام الملكي في عام 1958.
