في هذا الكتاب يتناول \"جهاد كرم\" تجربة البعث في تولي السلطة في العراق من خلال تقديمه لرجاله المناضلين وإنجازاتهم التي ساهمت في بناء تجربة العراق في خلال سنوات تولي الحزب للسلطة والذي انتصر للقيادة التاريخية المتمثلة بالأستاذ \"ميشيل عفلق\" الذي صان وحدة الحزب القومية إن ما يروم إليه مؤلف الكتاب هو إطلاع الرأي العام في مختلف البلاد العربية وخارجها على ما قام به رجال البعث في مسيرتهم، خصوصا بعد ظهورهم على مسرح الأحداث بعد ثورة الرابع عشر من تموز عام 1958.
