لقد حجبت شهرة ابن تيمية في الفقه والعقيدة والفتوى أهمية ما قام به في مجالات أخرى، لعل من أهمها آراءه المنطقية التي وإن كانت تختلف في ظاهرها عن اهتمامه بالفقه والعقيدة إلا أنها في الحقيقة تخدم ذلك كله. وهذا الكتاب استعراض لمحاولة ابن تيمية النقدية لمنطق أرسطو بشكل موضوعي متكامل يندر مثيله في تاريخ الفكر الإسلامي إذ تصدر هذه المحاولة في عمقها عن مناقشة لا عن إسقاط أو إحجام أو تكفير.. فأشارت للعيوب وقدمت البدائل الإيجابية التي تكمل البناء المنطقي بشكل يسمح بقبوله. ومن ناحية أخرى فإن هذه المحاولة النقدية تؤكد قدرة العقلية العربية على الابتكار والإبداع.
