تعد قصة حصان سرادقة من القصص الموجه للأطفال حيث أنه لما هاجر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم هو وصاحبه أبو بكر في قصة الهجرة المشهورة وتبعتهم قريش بفرسانها، أدكهم سراقة بن مالك المدلجي وكاد يمسك بهم، فلما رآه سيدنا أبو بكر قال أُتينا يا رسول الله فقال : له النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لا تحزن إن الله معنا فدعا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على سراقة فساخت يدا فرسه في الرمل فقال سراقة إني أراكما قد دعوتما علي، فادعوا لي، فالله لكما أن أرد عنكما الطلب، فدعا له النبي صلى الله عليه وفي رواية أن النبي صلى عليه وسلم قال لسراقة كيف بك إذا لبست سواري كسرى وتاجه.
