الحصاد هو جمع أعواد القمح وغيره من المادة المحصودة وسنابلها في مجموعات تدعى الأكوام، تجمع على كتف السهم ليتم حملها بعد تجميعها، وأغاني الحصاد هي أغان تراثية شعبية فولكلورية وليست أغنيات شعبية ،لأنها كما أسلفنا غير معروفة المؤلف ولا الملحن، وخلال اطلاعنا عليها نرى أنها قريبة من الأغاني الرعوية لأنها قديمة جدا، وسنبحث ذلك بالتفصيل خلال ذكر صفاتها وميزاتها، نلاحظ في أغاني الحصاد كما هو في أكثر الأغاني الفولكلورية حملها شكاوى العمل وتعبه.
