مسرحية أخناتون ونفرتيتي تأليف علي أحمد باكثير تعرض لنا شخصية أخناتون... وعلى الرغم من أن عنوان المسرحية هو \"أخناتون ونفرتيتي\"... إلا أن أخناتون هو الحاضر الأكبر في كل فصول المسرحية. أخناتون، كما يصوره باكثير في هذه المسرحية هو شخص قلق... باحث عن الحق... مؤمن بدين الحب والسلام... لكن لا يقر له قرار... فمن شك إلى يقين إلى شك إلى يقين... ثم يتطرف في دعوته للحب والسلام... بما يناقض الواقع ويجافي المنطق. مما يجدر الإشارة إليه، أن باكثير ألف مسرحيته مستعينا بشعر التفعيلة... وذكر في مقدمته أنه أول من ابتكر هذا الفن.
