حشد المؤلف الكثير من الجوانب الإيجابية لحكم الرئيس الأسبق نميري وتجاهل السلبيات ونقاط الضعف، إلا أنه قدم قراءة مختلفة حول حقبة تأريخية مختلف عليها في تأريخ السودان. اعتمد المؤلف على إفادات وشهادات عدد من الصحافيين والكتاب وبعض الشخصيات الكتاب حافل بالشهادات التي تتحدث عن الإنجازات التنموية والمشروعات الثقافية والفنية والسياسية مثل إنجاز اتفاقية أديس أبابا 1972 م التي حققت السلام في جنوب السودان لفترة عشر سنوات. المجايلة لهذه الفترة، أذكر منهم على سبيل المثال لا الحصر محمد سعيد محمد.
