قسم المؤلف كتاب المبسط في الكيمياء إلى فصول، تحدث في فصله الأول عن الأفلاك الذرية والترتيب الإلكتروني للذرات الممثلة والانتقالية، وعن بعض الخصائص الذرية للعناصر الذرية والذرات في فصله الثاني ونهاية الفصل الثالث، أما الفصل الثالث فتركز الاهتمام على بعض النظريات التي تحدثت عن التداخل بين الذرات لتكوين الجزيئات ليكون القارئ بعد ذلك قادرا على تفسير بعض الخصائص والسلوكيات المتعلقة بالذرات والجزيئات. وعمد المؤلف إلى أن يكون أسلوبه في شرح الكتاب مبسطا ميسورا بحيث يفهمه كل من يقرأه سواء كان مبتدئا أو عالما في الكيمياء، وكان منهجه في هذا الكتاب كالتالي: 1-عرض الأفكار مرتبة من الأسهل إلى الأصعب، 2-شرح الأفكار بطريقة سهلة ومبسطة، 3-إتباع الأفكار بالأمثلة والأسئلة المحلول ثم أسئلة الفصول وحلها.
