يتضمن الكتاب أربعة فصول، وهي: مدرج الهبوط على الساحل الغربي، اتفاقية المحطة الجوية في الشارقة، محطة الشارقة الجوية ومرافقها، ومدرج الهبوط الاضطراري في كلباء، مع خاتمة وملاحق تضم صورا من الوثائق، ومنها صورة عن الاتفاقية التي وقعت بين الشيخ سلطان بن صقر حاكم الشارقة، والحكومة البريطانية حول إنشاء محطة للطيران في الشارقة. يرصد صاحب السمو الشيخ الدكتور سلطان منذ بداية الكتاب تاريخ الاتفاقية الإنكليزية الإيرانية والموقعة بين الحكومتين في عام 1928م، وحول بدايات تطبيق تلك الاتفاقية، ويذكر المؤلف مجموعة من التواريخ والحقائق التمهيدية، والتي أدت لتأسيس مدرج للهبوط على الساحل العربي، وتم اختيار الشارقة محطة جوية بين الشرق والغرب.
