إن هشاشة الفروق بين الحقيقة والخرافة تجعل من السهل اختراقها ؛ فنجد أن سوء استغلال الغرب لنظرية «داروين» في القرن التاسع عشر أدى بهم إلى إضفاء «الشرعية العلمية» على سلوكهم الاستعماري، والزعم بأن العرق الزنجي المنحط-برأيهم-مصيره الزوال لصالح بقاء العنصر الأبيض الأقوى، وتكرر لاحقا استخدام ذلك في تطبيقات أخرى كالاضطهاد الطبقي وغيره من أشكال التمييز. ويأتي هذا الكتاب ليهد هذا البناء العنصري بنقض الخرافات التي بني عليها ؛ فبداية من أسطورة انحطاط السلالات المختلطة، مرورا بأسطورة السود والجنس الزنجي، وأسطورة السامية والجنس اليهودي، وليس انتهاء بالتفوق الخرافي للجنس الآري وما يسمى بنظرية «الرجل الخارق» ؛ يصل المؤلف إلى خلاصة علمية، مفادها أن الاختلافات البيولوجية بين البشر لا ترتبط إطلاقا بالرقي والوضاعة، ولا يصح بحال استغلالها كذريعة لممارسة القهر والتدمير.
