يعتبر هذا الكتاب (حياتي في الفن) الأشهر بين أعمال المخرج المسرحي الروسي الشهير ستانسلافسكي، الذي ترجم الى الكثير من اللغات وكان ذا تأثير دائم في كبار الممثلين في شتى أنحاء العالم. وفي هذا الكتاب صاغ ستانسلافسكي مجمل النظريات التي حكمت عمله الفني كمخرج وممثل ومنشط للحركة المسرحية الروسية في ذلك الحين. ويعتبر هذا الكتاب واحدا من اشهر الكتب الفنية فى العالم ليس باعتباره سيرة ذاتية لصاحبة فحسب وإنما لكونه مرشدا ودليلا يعرف سائر العاملين الناشئين فى المسرح كيف يشقون طريقهم بأقدام راسخة لا تعرف الزلل.
