هي كلمات اشتملت على معان شتى الصور، وأغراض مختلفة الخبر، جليلة الخطر منها ما طال عليه القدم، وشاب على تناوله القلم، وألم به الغفل من الكتاب والعلم. ومنها ما كثر على الألسنة في هذه الأيام وأصبح يعرض في طرق الأقلام وتجرى به الألفاظ في أعنة الكلام، من مثل : الحرية، والوطن، والأمة، والدستور، والإنسانية، وكثير غير ذلك من شئون المجتمع وأحواله وصفات الإنسان وأفعاله، أو ما له علاقة بأشياء الزمن ورجاله، يكتنف ذلك أو يمتزج به حكم عن الأيام تلقيتها، ومن التجاريب استمليتها، وفي قوالب العربية وعيتها وعلى أساليبها حبرتها ووشيتها، وبعض هذه الخواطر قد نبع من القلب وهو عند استجمام عفوه وطلع في الذهن وهو عند تمام صحوة وصفوة.
