يحتوي الكاتب في شكله الجديد على سبعة فصول، يتناول الفصل الأول منها موضوع علم النفس وتعريفه، وأهدافه، وأهميته وميادينه. ويتناول الفصل الثاني مراحل تطور علم النفس ومدارسه واتجاهاته الحديثة ويتناول الفصل الثالث السلوك ومحدداته وما يشمل ذلك من أسس بيولوجية ووراثية وبيئية بما يربط بينها من عوامل مشتركة. ويتناول الفصل الرابع طرق البحث في علم النفس ومتطلبات الطريقة العلمية وأدوات البحث المناسبة، أما الفصل الخامس فيتناول البعد الدينامي النزوعي للسلوك وبخاصة الدوافع ونظرياتها وتطبيقها في مجالات السلوك المتنوعة ويتناول الفصل السادس البعد الوجداني في السلوك وبخاصة الانفعالات. والاتجاهات والميول وتعريفها وبيان أهميتها وطرق التأثير فيها. أما الفصل السابع فقد تناول الموضوعات التالية : الانتباه-الإدراك-التذكر-النسيان التفكير-التعليم.
