قد نقول عن الثورة في ظفار (1965 - 1975) إنها انتصرت، حين حملت عمان من قعر هاويتها إلى طرف نهضتها الأولى. وقد نقول إنها خسرت، حين صارت بعد قمة أوجها، هاوية تنقص أطرافها، لكن ليس يعنينا هنا ثنائية \"انتصرت\" أو \"خسرت\"، بقدر ما يعنينا أن نمتد في ما بقي من سنديانتها، أعني إنسانها. يعنينا فتح شق الكلام على تجربة الإنسان الذي عاشها وتفاعل معها وتأثر بها وأثر فيها. ابن تلك الجزيرة الصغيرة، البحرين، كان له نصيب من رهان الثورة، ثلة من الشباب الناهض المتقد بالحماسة التحق بظفار نهاية الستينيات، وحتى قريبا من نهاية السبعينيات، يحمل حلما كبيرا بالتغيير، بالتحرر من قبضة الاستعمار والحكم القبلي.
