في هذا الكتاب حاول المؤلف تلخيص فكرة التضاد الشعري في القصيدة الأندلسية في عصر ملوك الطوائف وهو العصر الذهبي للشعر الأندلسي مستخدم التقنيات الحديثة في الكشف عن التضاد الشعري على ثلاثة مستويات الأول : جاء موضحا التضاد بين الأنا والآخر. والثاني : وقف على المستوى المعنوي للثنائيات المتضادة. بينما اختص المستوى الثالث بالثنائيات المادية... وبهذا استطاع الكاتب أن يقف على حضور هذه الثنائيات وتأثيرها في النص الشعري وقدرتها في التعبير عن واقع حال المجتمع الأندلسي في تلك الحقبة والذي من شأنه أن يضيف للقارئ المتعة والفائدة في الوقت ذاته.
