فإنه كثيرا ما سأل بعض أبنائنا وبناتنا ممن عقلوا الأمور على هذا الخير العميم الذي ترفل به بلادنا من الرخاء الاقتصادي، والأمن الاجتماعي، ومن ذلك أن أصبح الطبيب جزءا من حياتهم أو كاد. فقالوا في تساؤلهم : كيف كان الناس يعيشون قبل وجود الأطباء والمستشفيات في البلاد، وإذا مرض أحدهم فمن يكشف عليه ليعرف مرضه، ولیعرف علاجه ؟ وتساؤلات كثيرة لا تخرج عن هذا المعنى لأنهم لم يكونوا يتصورون الحالة القديمة. والواقع أن الأمر يستحق أن يكون موضع تساؤل واستغراب من الجيل الجديد أما الجيل القديم الذي كنت جزءأ منه لفترة من حياتي فإن الأمر عندهم لا يستحق ذلك الاستغراب لكونهم ألفوه، بل لم يكونوا يظنون أو يتطرق إلى أذهانهم أن يوجد غيره، أو أن الناس سيعرفون غيره أفضل منه.
