نعم الله على عباده أكثر من أن تعد وأعظم من أن تحصى: (وإن تعدوا نعمت الله لا تحصوها) [إبراهيم : 34]. والنبات من أجل نعم الله على عباده، وإن شئنا أن نعدد فوائده ونحصي فضائله فذلك أمر فوق الطاعة، فالإنسان لا يحيا دون غذاء والنبات غذاؤه، ولا يعيش دون كساء والنبات كساؤه، ويحتاج إلى دواء والنبات فيه دواؤه، وكان مسكنه من الأخشاب وما زال يستعين بها في إعداده وفي تجهيز وصنع أثاثه، فسريره ومقاعده ومناضده وأغلب ما يلزم بيته وأماكن عمله من الأخشاب التي هي في الأصل نباتات.
