A major private library of more than 6,000 items, with scarce and scholarly books, film magazines, DVDs, film stills and portraits, and an archive of unpublished material, including the typescript of Arab Film Pioneers. This includes an irreplaceable collection of 258 film magazines and yearbooks, with more than 3,000 issues in English, Arabic, French, Italian, German and Swedish, 294 scarce Arab and African film DVDs, more than 1,000 film stills and portraits, including many copies from the National Film Archive, being the working filmmaking library of Professor Roy Armes, former Emeritus Professor of Film, Middlesex University, London, and author of Arab Filmmakers of the Middle East and 21 other filmmaking titles, covering filmmaking in about 50 different countries, and collected over a period of 60 years.
