يتناول الكاتب في هذا الكتاب تاريخ الصحافة السورية، محاولا شرح الرسالة السامية التي أدتها الصحافة السورية إلى الوحدة العربية في البلاد العربية وما نتج عنها من ثورات اجتماعية وسياسية، تهدف إلى تحطيم الحواجز التي فرضها الاستعمار في مطلع القرن العشرين، حيث يعتقد تمام الاعتقاد بقوة تأثيرها في توجيه الرأي العام العربي، فكانت الصحافة السورية العامل الأكبر في تكييف النظر الاجتماعية وتسييرها في الاتجاهات السياسية واعتناق المبادی الاجتماعية والسياسية.
