Overview
الرعارع اسم منطقة تقع في أقصى أرض اليمن بالقرب من عدن أبين، كانت مشهورة في القرون الإسلامية الأولى، ونسب إليها عدد غير قليل من العلماء ورواه الأحاديث، وهي معدودة من حواضر مدينة لحج المعروفة، ذكرها الهمداني في 'الصفة'، وذكر أن سكانها الواقديون، كما بسط الباحث عن موقعها وعن حواضر لحج وسكانها معتمدا على النقولات التاريخية لأعلام المؤرخين، كما تطرق لعرض جماعة من الرجال الأفداد الذين اقترن ذكرهم بلحج وما حولها، وأيضا تناول الباحث الأحوال السياسية لمخلاف لحج وعاصمته الرعارع خلال المراحل التاريخية في العصر الإسلامي حتى مراحل التمزق والدويلات، ولقد تتبع بالبحث والتحليل مراحل تقلب الدول على لحج وأطرافها، وماتعرضت له حاضرة الرعارع من النهب والسلب والحرق في مرحلة سطو الجحافل وعدوانهم عليها، وغير ذلك، بالإضافة إلى طرح الأحوال العلمية والثقافية لتلك الحاضرة المنسية.
