يوضح الكاتب (محسن عبد العزيز) فلسفته ودافعه من وراء كتاب (رجال حول الوطن)، والذي ينقسم إلى أربعة أقسام رئيسية، القسم الأول: يتناول قادة بارزين في التاريخ المصري أولهم اللواء محمد نجيب الديكتاتور الطيب. أما القسم الثاني من كتاب يتناول الكاتب مجموعة من قادة الرأي والفكر والتنوير الذين تركوا بصمات في حياة المصريين في قلوبهم وألبابهم. أما القسم الثالث فينطوي على مجموعة من المبدعين منهم المفكرون والشعراء، ومنهم سلبوا الألباب قبل القلوب بأقلامهم، بكلماتهم التي لامست القلوب كما حركت العقول. وفي القسم الرابع والأخير من هذا الكتاب، يتناول محسن عبد العزيز مجموعة من الكتاب مثل محمد حسنين هيكل، وأحمد بهاء الدين، وعبد الوهاب مطاوع حصرا.
